Duty to Protect

It is our duty to protect
the vulnerable,
the children,
the mistreated,
the forgotten,
the oppressed,
the marginalized,
the maligned,
the cast aside,
the ones seeking liberation,
those called odd, weird, different
by others who will never understand
their genius and the beauty of their lives.
It is our duty.
